horrible facility

My name is Patsy Campbell, I had a Hip replacement and got to spend a week at West Bend for rehab services, I was very priveleged, I found the facility to be above and beyond maintained, the residents were wonderful, an assorted group of friendly interesting people. The staff was EXEMPLERY!! I cannot say enough good things, everyone was treated with respect and care, when t was time for me to leave, I did not want to go, I felt spoiled and pampered. I fell in Love with the residents the staff and the overall beauty of the facility My daughter picked this facility and quite frankly if you have to put your Mom somewhere, either long or short term, this is the place to Go!!! I give 6 stars!

After a bad experience at a different rehab center, my son took me to kindred. From the office staff to the cna's, to the therapists, they eliminated my fears. They reinstated my confidence in myself. They went above and beyond to make me feel safe and well cared for. They have my deepest thanks.I think they are all awesome and I highly recommend this place to anyone.

My loved one had to be placed in this facility on an emergency basis, I wasnt able to tour the facility before placing her there, if I had toured the facility I assure you, she would have NEVER gone there!!! The environment is cold and dank, not inviting, some of the staff are rude/blunt/short with my family and her. The conditions of the building, it has rotting wood, screws in the windows so that they only open up about 6" so I am not sure what my mother would do in case of a fire. The restroom smelled so bad even after I cleaned it myself that the Asst. Director came to look at it. The shower room was dirty, standing water on the floors. The food NEVER, and I mean NEVER had fresh ANYTHING!!! No fresh fruit, no fresh veggies, and no fresh meat!!! The fruit came out of a can, the veggies usually came out of a can or were frozen, and the meat was processed. I dont know how they expect people to get or stay healthy eating this way! I actually cried one evening while I sat with my mother and watched her eat. Obviously I could have taken her out of there, but the medicaid options for the care she needed were VERY limited! Even the water was nasty tasting, I had to bring my mom bottled water!

To whom it may concern, I find it comforting to walk out the door of Kindred I know great care and respect is being given to my loved one. Having worked in nursing homes etc for years I know what to look for and when. I find this nursing home in tip top shape and that goes for all departments. The directors do an excellent job and are out with their staff and residents. The staff as a whole are very good and I have no complaints about the quality of care our loved one is getting.

The nurses and most of the aids are wonderful, if it were not for them I dont know what this facility would do. Not much else good to say. The nurses are WAY over worked and NOT appreciated at all by management, there has been numerous times my mother has not gotten a shower due to not enough aids to help, though we pay for her to live there, i would rather my mother live somewhere where i know my money is going for her care and not to pay for care she does not receive!!!!

This is a truly wonderful place. The new upgrades truly make this place very nice. the staff are friendly and caring and they do their best to take care of everyone. Please tour this facility. You wont be disappointed ! Promise
