Review of Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

2 Star User Review

At the time the patient had a Trach and Peg that she could not care for on her own, and they are the only place in the area that would provide that type of care. She was on short term side was worst off patient in the section by far. CNA's rarely checked on her or turned her every 2 hours as required by the facility. She was left to set in urine that soaked through her pants, and was given a wheel chair pad, that was soaked in urine that they refused to wash, the wheelchair itself (which was theres) was ruined from leaving the pad on and urine go between the pad and the wheelchair seat. When the pad was ruined they didn't have another one and refused to get her up for 3 days due to her being a fall risk. Saving grace was actually the midnight staff who knew her needs. One even told me how sorry she was that my mom didn't get the care/attention she needed because the people who were better off were always hunting down CNAs for meds and other wants. Also the Physical therapists were AMAZING. They were the people that saved the day, and would check on her and get staff to change her ect. when family couldn't be there. If rehab was needed and it was someone who was able to express there self and had minimal care needs I would say this place is good, but if they have even moderate needs I would try someplace else. It looks nice and clean, no idea about food. The activities staff was very nice and tried different things. Feel like long term care may not be good but I was never over there. Call lights would be on for a very long time, I know while there the call light in the patients room I was in went unanswered for over 30 minutes.
