My father was admitted to the ER at UVA/Culpeper Hospital on August 20, 2015. He was suffering from a fever/chills and was incoherent. After urine and blood tests he was found to have E.coli in both.

After a stay of five days in the hospital, he was given a PICC line and sent over to the Rehab facility-very reluctantly!!

He truly did NOT understand why he was there and how sick he was-he would have died had I not found him.

He did a lot of fussing about things but ate heartily and got stronger due to physical therapy.

The nurses were VERY patient with him and VERY understanding!!

He even lost his hearing aid and the facility paid for a new one!

Although understaffed compared to the hospital, I saw nothing but respect for the patient and an EXTREMELY helpful staff!

Abolutely terrible care. Place should be closed down. My father was left in his own waste for up to 12 hours, had terrible rashes. Staff yelled at him, and my mother and I. Administrator is clueless about what is going on in the center. My father was thrown out because they were "not adequately staffed to handle his care". I counted a staffing ratio of 30 patients to one Medical assistant. It's obvious that all this place wants to do is skim off the easy patients and money, and deliver as little care as possible. If you require any assistance, they throw you out. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! This place is for-profit healthcare at it's worst. What an embarrassment to have a place like this in Culpeper.

This place is horrible! My grandmother was in there for about 2-3 months. She would always have unexplained bruises and she lost 20 lbs being there. Majority of the workers do not care about any of the patients. There were numerous times they left my grandmother in a drenched diaper and she would wear the same clothes for days if we couldn't make it up to see her. We have found her on the floor just laying there because no one would watch her. They also never changed her bed linens. We would see how dirty they were and ask about having them changed but instead of them changing them, they would just hand us the linens to change ourselves. The room was FILTHY! the bathroom floor was sticky from urine and there was a HUGE hole in the wall that we saw mice coming in and out of. There was also mice feces in her dresser. It got to a point to where we would complain about something every time we went there. So with that said, they kicked her out. They asked us to move her because they couldn't watch her. The staff is also EXTREMELY EXTREMELY rude.

I was in the rehabilitation center for 44 days. The nursing staff was well informed and educated. Most of the CNAs were on their toes and eager to help, whether to change the bed, help with bathing and even toileting. The administration was the first that through past experience proved to be helpful and would come to the room if there was a problem or question. The room was kept very tidy and cleaned every day. The food service wasn't bad for institutional food. The variety of choices was okay. The PT and OT departments were outstanding. They were able to identify weaknesses and help me improve on my walking and strength and endurance building. I am so glad I chose CH&RC to rehabilitate at and would come back again if necessary.

the place is dirty, aids run the place. NO ONE CARES about the patient. we just took my dad out of there. they where not giving him his medications because he couldn't walk due to stoke, they would pick him up by his clothes, ripping clothes. he had marks on him BUT know on knew why??????

please don't let your loved on there unless you are with them 24/7

Well my father is in there and I agree with the other women when she says that if they come in during the weekend you have no idea what is going on. Good luck finding out also. I had the unfortunate mistake of them calling me and telling my my father had past away. NOT!!!! They called the wrong family. How careless. I was devistated!! That was the worsed. I am currently looking to move my father needless to say.

I had heard horror storied of this place, but was hoping that they were exaggeration. I have found out already they are very real. My first encounter and I hope the last. It is absurd with today's technology, that a phone cannot be acquired the same day of arrival through the facility. Or that there is not in the rehab section, options fro renting and having installed the same day a hanging flat screen. Simple items that would keep the patient comfortable and not isolated from the family and the world. Arrival on the weekend is met with no instructions, or information on the facility. No page of who or what to expect, or when I should do what to make sure the care of my elderly blind mother is address. Have yet to hear from a doctor, although I have requested it of the nurses station. It reminds me of the administration on the PBS program waiting fro God. It is all about the bottom line and nothing about the patient or family.
