I hear that it is hard to find a good, quality place to have your loved one stay when they need the extra help. However, when your family member has to call emergency crews from the care center they are staying in, because the staff aren't responding to his emergency light, then that is a horrible problem. After having a knee surgery infection, a family member had to be placed in Sunshine Terrace for rehabilitation. This family member couldn't get out of bed without assistance, since his knee was infected. He was having bowel problems because of antibiotics, and he needed help to get up. He pushed the light button, no body came…. he repeatedly called, nobody came… he got out of bed himself to try to make it to the bathroom, but he fell instead. He ended up loosing all control of everything. Still, nobody came… he ended up using his phone to call 911. The staff was probably really surprised when emergency crews responded to do their job.
