This is THE WORST possible place you could choose to care for a loved one. They over-medicate so they don't have to be "bothered" with patients. They don't seem a massive stroke something urgent--in fact, they weren't monitoring the patient enough to even recognize these symptoms; my family had to find my grandmother slumped over (unattended) in a wheelchair, having a stroke. They have us a hard time about calling an ambulance and the nurses just stated blindly and blamed everything on "well we just follow the doctor's orders"…

I am shamed by that nurses reply. I am a nurse and perhaps someone should point out to that nurse that we are supposed to advocate for the patient. That is why we receive medical training. We are not supposed to blindly follow Dr's orders. If we have some concerns we are to address them and make Dr aware of concern and go higher if necessary. And any new nurse with an ounce of care can recognize stroke symptoms, if they monitor their patients.
