Review of Alamo Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center

5 Star User Review

My mother-in-law is in this home and it is just wonderful all around!

Family members need to be more involved with their family members in this home. At least three times a week and specially on the weekends. The residents get lonely for their family, specially their children and siblings.

My mother-in-law eats all of her food and isn't hungry when she is finished. It is a well balanced meal and meets her needs. Mother is in the 'NEW' secure unit for residents with all stages of Dementia and Alzheimer's. The unit since it is new is gradually getting furnished one step at a time and filling up with residents.

The residents during the day are busy with Bingo, coloring, Fiesta activities, and special activities to fit their demand.

The home has a Physical Therapy area that is the best I've ever seen! They work with the residents on each individual special need. They are awesome!

A beauty salon is available for all residents. The beautician does an super job.

At the moment each resident has their own room that is decorated by family members. My husband and I bought in an entertainment center, a card table and the home gave us the bed, excellent mattress, decorative chairs, TV's, new blinds for the windows and CABLE :)

Now for the employees, what can I say other then the most caring, loving, overworked nurses and staff I have ever meet. I was a medic in the U.S. Air Force and these nurses, assistants are awesome! If I or any member of our family have a question they look at us eye to eye and address the question/concern with the utmost, sincerest information they have. If questions are related for the doctor the Dr. will call us.

This is a SUBURB Rehab/nursing home!
