Review of Buena Vida Nursing and Rehab-San Antonio

3 Star User Review

Most of the time, the food served to residents rooms is barely warm, much less hot. I am at the facility a lot of the time and I notice the food carts get pushed onto the hall and are sometime left unattended for a half hour or more, before being served to residents. The food served in the dining hall is usually hot and served immediately. This is a problem. Everyone can't get to the dining hall and even if they could the dining hall could not accommodate everyone at once.

The food consumption needs to be monitored. If residents consistently leave the same food on their trays chances are none of them care for that particular food item. Stop serving it. Find something they will eat rather than throw food away.

Residents should have a meal selection menu, the day before, so they can have input as to what they would like to eat the next day, rather than a standard, "one selection fits all". Somewhat like the hospital menus. The alt on the menu usually isn't a complete meal more of a snack type option.

I've noticed a lot of sandwiches are served. Some residents have a difficult time with sandwiches. They are unable to bite completely through a sandwich so maybe the whole sandwich idea needs to be looked into.

I think the quality of food is o.k. however the selection and dispensing needs work.

This is a false statement, they have a short-order cook and take orders everyday!
