I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE!!!
BEWARE…the patients do not get the care they need/deserve.
We actually went in to tour the facility and were pleased that the staff seemed very to be caring for their patients (we learned VERY quick that it was just a front since they had visitors touring the facility). During the tour we were shown a room that they must use just for show and tell cause the room our loved one went into was NOTHING like the one we were shown. The toilet was not working properly and the sink had a constant leak. The room had a HORRIBLE smell (urine).
On one occasion my family and I went in to visit and upon entering the facility there was a resident in the living room covered in feces. Apparently she had been like that for a while because when it was reported to the staff one of them turned to a co-worker and made a comment that "Jane Doe" didn't clean her up before she left.
There were usually residents that one could tell that they had not been bathed in days!
The nurses are not too friendly and seem bothered when asked to get someting for a patient. The housekeepers' supervisor is extremely rude and unprofessional- not sure that lady is even qualified for that position.
The Administrator and DON do not even listen to ones concerns. They do not let one express their concerns without interrupting. VERY VERY unprofessional.
ALL IN ALL THE STAFF AT RETAMA IN ROBSTOWN NEGLECT THE MAJORITY OF THEIR RESIDENTS.
