My wife spent six weeks in this facility because her legs hurt so bad, she couldn't walk. The day before we were discharged, the doctor there looked at her legs for the first time. If you go or take someone there, please get a doctor to diagnose their problems. She still can't walk, and the treatment from the nurses and aides were often combative, and demeaning. The buzzers stay on for 30 minutes or more before they are answered. My wife sat in the cafeteria for supper, and no one ever waited on her, so she got nothing to eat. She went back to her room in her wheelchair, and asked for a PBJ sandwich. I must say the food was terrible! I ate there a couple of times, and I wouldn't feed my dog that stuff. I will say the PT department tried their best for almost six weeks, but she made very little progress. I moved her home, and we are seeing a neurologist in 5 days. Maybe he will actually LOOK at her legs.

My brother (70 years old) has advanced peripheral nuropathy. About 6 months ago, he got a powered/lifting recliner. He pretty much stays in the recliner night and day. In May of 2017, he became so weak he couldn't get out of a dining room chair. Fire/ems were called and he was taken to the hospital. After 6 hours in emergency, they could find no apparent cause for the weakness. He stayed in the hospital about 6 days, and was sent to Belterra for rehab. The Physical Therapy people met with him the afternoon he arrived. He stayed at Beterra 20 days (all his insurance would allow). Within a few days, he was progressing well. By the end of 2o days, they had him walking 1,000 feet with his walker, and 75-100 feet with only his cane. He has not been able to a thousand feet in years… perhaps 5 or more. At the end of his stay, the therapy folks said if he could stay 3 weeks more, they thought they could have him walking the 1,000 feet with only a cane. But insurance wouldn't pay for it, and he didn't have the $3,000 to self pay. Some three months later, we are going to try to get him into their physical therapy as an out patient… and hopefully, 6 weeks of PT @ $100/week copay… hopefully they can work their miracles again. As for the rest of the facilty, they had numerous and varied activities… great tasting food… snacks 3 times a day, if dedired… very caring and helpful staff. Overall, I'd rate it at least four and a half stars out of five. If there was a negative, it would be that they lacked a single point of control, and they were always passing the responsibility to someone else. I feel a single person, who would then find the answer, and get back to the patient/family would have saved a lot of frustration, in my opinion… but still a fabulous facility.

The care at this facility is horrible. I had a loved one here and over a week they forgot to provide her with breakfast, lunch and dinner three times, they are terrible about answering the call buttons and they don't follow the doctor's orders when giving medication. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Now I know why they have a lower rating. My mother was there and I couldn't be more unhappy with the response and care from the staff. Many time I asked for their help and they all said they were too busy or that isn't my job. I will not be bringing my mother back!

Where to start? Sue, the receptionist is very rude. Barbara in the financial office or whatever title she claims to have that week, is rude. They try to bait you into keeping your parent there longer so they can get more money out of you. It took over an hour most days just to get two aides at the same time to put him to bed. The physical therapy staff was rude. Every time I went there, like clockwork, my dad was sitting at a table with two other patients being ignored. A lot of the therapy staff was in the back room on computers, or staring at the television which was always super loud even for me. They don't know much about brain injuries which is what my dad has. We would ask for a set time for him every day and they would not do it. If he wasn't sitting at a table being ignored, Ellen was having him dig beans out of rice from a container. Wow what top of the line therapy. They do not clean their machines or tables. Everyone touches everything, shares everything without washing it first. It also smells like urine in the therapy room. Ellen would bark orders at my dad, she tried one day to tell me not to push my dad down the hallway when he was clearly tired and struggling to use one hand to move himself. So I told her I will push his wheelchair if I want to he is tired. She'd scoff and walk away. We went to the Head Nurse Anthony, numerous times. Nothing seemed to change. Also talked with Agnes, the director of the therapy department, still, nothing changed. If they had been more involved with my dad, he would have been walking by the time he left. They had him stand twice the few months he had to be there. They had him walk on the parallel bars twice. The place he came from before gave him solid three hours of therapy 5 days a week, I am positive had he been able to stay there he would be walking by now. Dinner service, another glory, Claudia is very rude. She would poke my dad's arm and tell him you need to eat. She was told not to touch him and she argued that it's her job, "this is the cue table I am supposed to tell them to eat and get them to eat, it's the cue table" over and over like a broken record to the point she made my sister so upset. The call buttons are a joke. Nobody comes, which worried me all the time. My dad could not speak so if he needed help he probably would have died because they never check. The call lights are just lights and it buzzes at the front desk, no audio because they are supposed to come check and they don't! The buzzer went off more than a half n hour sometimes and people behind the desk would continue doing whatever it was they were on the computers. I can't say enough about how unsatisfied I am by this place. I have no idea how they have such high ratings. Just awful. Please think twice before putting your loved one in this place.

This place is not fit for any human being. When first arriving my mom was put in her room, I was greeted by the nurses and techs that would be attending to her, after meeting them I did not see them again until I was leaving. The nurse that was going to distribute the medication to my mom was very unsympathetic and just plain ignorant. After 3 days there I took my mother out. They did not distribute her medication to her and she needed to be hospitalized because of it. They must realize that the elderly do not want to be there, they have to be there and if you do not want to work with elderly people, who sometimes may need more attention then one can give, then maybe this is not the place for those who do not want to do their job. I really hate this place and pray that before anyone leave their family in there, they will think twice and search somewhere else. This place need new staff with better knowledge of how to care for the elderly.

this facility is the absolutely the worst in the area, there are insect issues, patient call lights ring forever, nursing staff is grossly undermanned, administrator is inexperienced, turnover of personnel is constant, the facility is very old and has maintenance issues, look for anywhere to put your loved one other this place, appearance is very old style compared to new facilities in the area

my husband was there in 2011 the first week the care was excellent while I was able to come everyday to check on him. I had to be out of town the next week and he was moved to another room he was allowed to fall and cut his eye open and had to be rushed to the hospital. Then the last week he was there I came in and he had 104 temp I had to make them call the dr. and them I had to insist that he go to the hospital they wanted to give his fever a couple of day to come down they told me. I did not take him back after the week hospital stay he passed away three weeks later. Now they bill me almost $4000. They told me they would make sure all his care was covered by insurance which now they say it is not covered. Be ware I would not put my loved one there. I rate this nursing home a one.

This is an older facility, and looks more like an "old-style" nursing home where the rooms are set up like hospital rooms. However, the care is FAR better than at the other (newer) nursing facility in the area where my Mom was previously. They have a lot of staff that have been there several years and genuinely care about the residents. The therapists have worked and worked with my mom until now she is strong enough to transfer herself from her wheelchair to bed, toilet, car, etc., with minimal help, and her general health and outlook on life seem better than they have been in a long time.
