I filled out an application for employment and the Director of nursing was so rude. If your going to treat an applicant like that what is the company's treatment of its staff? I wouldn't work for that grumpy old witch if she begged me. Completely unprofessional and horrible people skills. I feel sorry for the poor residents to have this uncaring cold person being responsible for their care. I have worked in medical for twelve years and never been treated with such disrespect. I know that this place has had many nursing directors in the lady couple years and, it looks as if their picker is broken. If you're expecting a friendly warm competent individual you're in for a huge wake up call. Some people are not meant to be nurses much less management. What a grouch!

YOU DO NOT WANT TO WORK HERE. If I could rate it as such, it would be "0" Stars.I applied and was hired PRN. The day that I was supposed to have my Orientation, I drove all the way out there (90 miles round trip) and they had cancelled my orientation and had forgotten to call me. I was to start training the next morning. Instead, they called me a few hours later, and asked me to go Full-Time and to start training that night. I did gladly. The nurses training me were amazing. Very knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and caring. Trained for 3 days, and then was on my own. Worked the next 9 nights in a row, because that was how the schedule worked out with a prior obligation I had. The DON acts as if she cares. I didn't even meet her until I went to pick up my first paycheck 2 weeks later. They have mandatory meetings almost every payday with no direct deposit. (Strike 1)I had worked the night before payday and was scheduled to work that night also. They had also scheduled me for the "Mandatory" New Hire Orientation that had been cancelled before. I stayed trying to sleep in my truck because I live so far and Orientation was scheduled from 9:30-12:30 and then the Mandatory Staff Meeting. It was too cold to stay in my truck, so I came back into the facility about 9:00, after getting off of work about 6:30 or 7:00. Then, I was informed when I finally met the DON, that the orientation had been cancelled again and no one remembered to call me to let me know. I was never told about all of these mandatory meetings until a few days before payday. I have a previous obligation on Wednesdays and was told by the DON to choose which was more important. (Strike 2) I had gotten sick and was tested positive for Strep. I had informed them at the Mandatory Meeting at 2pm that day that I was getting tested and I would let them know if I was positive. I attempted to call in and was told that I HAD to cover my shift. I was not on antibiotics yet, because I had to wait until I had the cash to pay for the meds. I was told that it didn't matter; I had to work even though I was contagious and putting everyone at risk. Patients & staff alike. Within a few days, we had to test several patients for Strep. (Strike 3) I got injured on the job, when I caught a full-figured patient from falling. They did send me to the Urgent Care Clinic immediately, however, since it was still so early, I had to wait in the cold, in my truck for the place to open. My time was not compensated. Was told later that this company does not compensate you for your time. (The only facility that I have ever worked at that doesn't)X-rays were clear, went back to work. Was told to follow up if pain continued, but I could only follow up at that ONE PARTICULAR clinic (46 miles away from where I live). (Strike 4) Requested off Christmas Eve and told them that I would work EVERY OTHER HOLIDAY in order to have it off. DON told me not to worry about it. The person that does the schedule, told me back in November, that my requests had been approved. A few days before Christmas Eve, I received a call from the scheduler that they could not find any one to cover my shift and I needed to work it. I spoke with the DON. Explained that I had airline tickets already. Was told that I needed to change my plans. She told me that she DID sign my requests, but that the scheduler was unable to find someone to cover it, so it was my responsibility. I was also told (in December) that she was denying my PTO requests for March. So, I did change my plans; my employment plans. I turned in my resignation. (Strike 5) I went to pick up my final paycheck and told them that my arm was still hurting. They told me to go back to have it checked. The MD at the Urgent Care Clinic ordered an MRI. I got a call from the clinic today, that they had gotten Pre-Authorization from the facility and then they facility called them back saying the Pre-Authorization was no longer in effect. I called the facility and spoke with the Administrator (whom I never met in the 3 months that I worked there, since I NEVER did have my MANDATORY NEW HIRE ORIENTATION)and she informed me that since I am no longer an employee, she is not sure if I am still covered for an ON THE JOB INJURY. She said that she will follow up on it. AND NO, THIS IS NOT JUST SOUR GRAPES. I HAVE MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION AND AIRLINE TICKETS AND VOICEMAILS TO BACK UP EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE POSTED.

I can't believe no one has rated this top notch nursing facility. From the minute you walk into a beautiful hotel-like setting to the residents who love to greet you as you walk down the halls, Cibolo Creek rises above anything you've ever heard about nursing homes. My husbands mother was there for 2 years until her passing in May 2011. What a wonderful feeling we had when we looked out at the people at the memorial service and saw so many of the staff saying good-bye. Cibolo Creek is not a place to dump the elderly when resources run out. It is a privlege to have a loved one spend the rest of their days in this loving, positive, and exciting "home".

Firstly, I would like to say that the leader of this home (the administrator) is one of the most down home and professional individuals I have ever met. Her leadership abilities are obvious. Her staff are attentive and mannerly and that is reflective as you can see that residents are very well cared for. Overall, I would like to say that this home is a nice Christian environment with great leadership and a caring staff.

    Unprofessional, incompetent administrator

The best thing to be said of this facility is that the members of the care staff tend to be compassionate, friendly, and solid individuals. The bureaucrats, however -- PARTICULARLY the Administrator -- have behaved unprofessionally, even erratically, calling their competence into question, and families are treated with very little respect at times. I understand that there have also been investigations into unethical conduct (although I cannot verify that). On the business end of things, the Administrator could not answer a direct question about money, vacuously repeating the same incorrect information and interrupting me constantly and very, very rudely (in hopes that I wouldn't ask another question?). The company is supposedly run in accordance with Christian values. But the manipulative way that the Administrator has treated all of the members of our family (even my children, tots to teens, have sensed something deceitful) and tried to almost steal from us leads me to believe that she is anything but a good Christian person, and I would meet with her with witnesses present, and ask a lot of questions if you feel comfortable bringing your loved one here. Again, the nurses are very good, so take your time. We ultimately brought my Mom home, it must be noted. Best of luck, and God Bless.
