Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston Galveston, Texas 77554
This is a dangerous facility. My mother died there and I had to sleep there to protect her from the neglect and danger. There was only one night nurse for the entire facility. There was only one attendant on duty at night for the rehab section and she would study (understandably) but she checked on my mother very seldom. One morning after I left for a week due to a family emergency at home, my mother was found double diapered. The floors are concrete and I saw three residents fall and two of them died in the 2 and a half months I spent there. The staff is loud when the night shift comes in and the day shift leaves. They shout and bang doors etc. My mother had trouble with sundowning and trying to fall asleep. I reported this to the head nurse and nothing changed. I saw roaches running around, the person charged with cleaning the room stopped cleaning it. It is atrocious there. The social worker did nothing when I told her that my mother wanted therapy. There were no qualified psychological therapists on staff. One person came to talk with her and he did nothing to help her. There was a physician's assistant who was unqualified to care for her who said she could live in assisted living but she had dementia and died very soon thereafter. They made no attempt to give her the care she really needed. She could not operate the button to call for help and when I did, it took 30 minutes for someone to come in at night. The nurse in charge one night would not come in when she was crying and screaming for help for an obstruction in her bowels. The nurse was overwhellmed with too many patients to take care of and she would not do an enema for my mother without permission from the PA who was not available at the time. It was a nightmare and then I lost my mother.

NEGLECT 101
How this place is still operating is beyond me, the staff and "doctor" could careless about the patients, they have poor work ethics, non professional, they make excuses or argue when they are challenged with a complaint. My father was there a week before I arrived in Texas, the doctor there had no knowledge of his medical history which could have been easily obtained, they hadn't started his physical therapy, or given him a bath, he wasn't even registered in at the this facility. My dad's room was infested with roaches, in his bed and drawers, it was like pulling teeth to get the nurses to help him (change his bed linen, empty his urinal, clean around his bed, empty the trash). I took my father out of that place fast and in a hurry and no one has called to ask why, no concern whatsoever, my father he's doing great, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone it should be shut down.

Horrible. Short staffing and plenty of attitude from the ones they have to do their job. Patients not checked on for hours at a time. No response for emergency call lights. Nurses neglecting patients with injuries. Complaints handled with lip service. The worst nursing home for your loved one.
Baywind Village Convalescent Center League City, Texas 77573
Nice atmosphere, clean and odorless. Good external appearance, but lacking the same internally. Nurses and administrators intolerant and uneducated regarding complex or atypical clients; furthermore, unwilling to attempt to offer individualized care and interventions, maybe due to staffing issues? Clients often left in hallways for extended periods of time with little to no responses when asking for help. Good place for mild clients only, not for those who are more dependent and need extra love and care. If your loved one requires a good deal of care and attention, not a good place; don't waste your time. Time is money for this company. Lacks love and understanding.

InRe: Bay Oaks, Texas City.
This place is AWEFUL! My sister is handicapped and unable to care for herself. When we visited her last Saturday there was ants crawling on her and her bed to eat crumbs left from dropped food that was never cleaned up by the workers. The bed pads and sheets stunk from urine that were placed on top of the others and never removed during bed changes. Her remote control and eyeglasses were stolen. The hallway grossly had the aroma of stool while the workers sat behind a desk area taking an extended break. Where was their supervisor???? OOPS! They are the weekend workers and cant tell you anything about anything because they only work on weekends…their excuse. Try calling up there after dark and if they do answer at the desk they will leave you on hold until you hang up. On top of it all, My sister went to the hospital and bay oaks did not contact us until after she was discharged from the hospital. We are trying to get my sister moved but they are dragging their feet. Is their reason being our complaints? Hum! Don't take my word for it…go see for yourself after dark and on weekends that place is a nightmare.

This place is the worst.

The facility staffing is very poor, will run with (1) CNA on halls that requires at least (2) two CNA's, patients that are total dependent will lay for hours in urine or BM. The good CNA's try but are overwhelmed, the bad CNA's could care less. Nursing is staffed a little better on weekdays, weekends are horrible, if either a CNA or Nurse doesn't show up on nights are weekends it's not filled. They hired a new administrator (Early 2014) and the care has gone down. Anyone looking do your homework!!!

my dad has stayed there for respite and he will never go back again. he sat there for 4 days unable to watch the tv and not one person cared enough to even notice or do anything about it. when I left with him no one ask to help me take him out with his belongings or help with the wheel chair.
I did not see one happy person in the place

I'm only giving this facility a one because I have to give a rating. It's sad to witness the neglect that the staff give to the patients that's there. In the entry interview they talk a good game and act as if they care about your loved one. Please do not believe any of it. It's hog wash to get you to leave your loved one there. My sister and I have watched our loved one go down within a month. Please look at other options before you make the mistake of leaving your family member in their care.

Worst care giver response times, have called and phone has rang 50+ times during the daylight hours, evening time when patients ring buzzer it takes more than 45 minutes to respond. Staff on personal cell phones and make you wait till there thru with personal text's or calls. This place is beautiful outside and inside but staff has alot to desire. Look somewhere else for Elder Care.

Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Cen Friendswood, Texas 77546
The quality of nursing care at Friendship Haven is, at best, questionable. Staff turnover is very high. As disturbing as this may be, the conduct of the management and accounting staff is horrible. They publicly harrass family members regarding payments while they are unable to produce accurrate monthly statements in a timely manner. They get less than one star from this family.

I was in this place for no longer than 30 minutes yesterday afternoon visiting my Grandmother and just ftom that short period of time I can assure you that this is not where you want a loved one to be. When I showed up, the light outside her door was flashing because she had to use the bathroom and needed the help of a nurse or aid. At the time I arrived, she had already been waiting for 20 minutes. The person across the hall also had their light on. After I'd been there for 15 minutes minutes my Grandmother couldn't hold it any longer and I believe she soiled herself. I left the room to find the person across the hall had also soiled herself. That is absolutely ridiculous! There should be people who respond as soon as the light comes on! But instead they're sitting outside talking and smoking. Wonderful place, huh? Unless you want to pay a bunch of money to sit up there and take care of your loved one without the help of a nurse/aid, then I suggest finding another facility.

The atmosphere was bright and open and the staff were very attentive and helpful. We liked the fact that the building was clean and there was no odors when we would come to visit. The nursing staff would answer all our questions and seemed very professional.

My father's experience at Baywind was very nice. The staff was incredibly supportive.
Regent Care Center of League City League City, Texas 77573
I would not recommend this facility unless you want to pay money to do all the work yourself taking care of your loved one. Never saw a real nurse, only the aides and they weren't overly helpful. You are on your own at this place!
Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Cen Friendswood, Texas 77546
Beware! This place is horrible!!! The Administrator and Director of Nursing do not care about the residents or their employees! The ONLY thing they care about is covering their own asses and making money. While appearances from the outside look good, don't be fooled. The building is not well maintained. The rooms on the long term halls are disgusting, there are holes in the walls, urine and feces stained carpet through out the building and bugs in most of the rooms. In the summer time the building is so hot it is unbearable! I can not say enough negative things about this place or the people in charge of running it!!
Ashton Parke Care Center Inc Texas City, Texas 77591

Ashton Parke Care Center Inc Texas City, Texas 77591
We admitted my Mom to Ashton Parke 4 months ago. I'm so pleased with the care my Mom is receiving here. They take good care of the patients, the staff is always attentive, the facility is always clean, patients are always clean and interacting with each other and staff members.
My Mom looks forward to bingo at 4 P.M. and the movie and popcorn day. The staff takes every effort to make sure the residents are entertained and happy. Ashton Parke has many, very comfortable, visiting areas set up for patients and their family, several sun rooms and a nice front room at the entrance.

this facility is prone to, and frequently report for abuse and neglect. You can see for self by researching the web; most of the info pages will show you their reports. The current Administrator and DON came from Seabreeze Healthcare where the pattern was even worse. The general staff is pleasant and works hard they just lack the leadership to be efficient. The current leadership team is more concerned with self indulgence than with quality and continuity of care. The potential for this facility to be a great home is there, it just needs fresh faces, leadership, and policy and procedure plan that is current with today's rules and change with the new plans for monitoring and surveying how facilities are ran and how the residents quality of life is maintained. Over all it would not be my first choice to place a loved one, but a place to keep an eye on for local placement.

Very poor patient care.
Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Cen Friendswood, Texas 77546
I would give this place 0 stars if I was able to. I worked at this facility as a nurse and let me say I wouldn't put my enemy in this place. The food was horrible almost inedible. The aids didn't perform their duties. Residents were left saturated in urine. The kitchen is always short staffed and always training new staff who do not have a clue as to what they are doing. Management does not know what is going on and not helpful what so ever. Nurses are being asked to stay 18-24 hour shifts. The residents are ignored and their needs are not met. I have had doctors scream at me because other nurses did not preform their jobs and I have had family members furious do to the lack of communication and not following through with the family's wishes. I decided to become unemployed than to work for this facility any longer.
