  • Lampstand Nursing and Rehabilitation Lp Bryan, Texas 77802

we had a family member here some time ago, the facility looks good..however the management is below par, unconcerned and inattentive to input..in fact when someone complained to the administrator about the staff standing around the main desk at night laughing and being too loud for patients to get rest, i was told, his comment was he couldn't do anything about it as it was his happy hour..that's stupid….the food is horrible..not even school cafeteria quality.. it's not that difficult to prepare reasonable food..

and the placement of patients with compatible roommates is totally without thought..if we have the need of a nursing or rehab in the future it will NOT be here.

Well the one and only complaint I have against the lampstand of bryan texas is that they do not do proper billing. What I mean by this is that when my dad's 100th day of full coverage was up they did not file with his Tri-care therefore they are trying to make us pay the whole bill. When we should only have to make a portion of that payment, which we were already informed way before hand that we would be paying a portion. They sent us a registered letter that even threatened us and states on there that if we didnt pay the bill within 10 days that they would turn us in to adult protective services, social security and the state ombudsman, for which the state ombudsman had nothing to do with dads care. I had no clue what the state ombudsman was until i went on line. I was apauled that they would make such a threat. You cant legally turn anyone in to these agencies over a medical bill. So I would advise anyone that is putting their loved one in the Lampstand of bryan and Fortress of college station which are owned by the same people to do extensive research into these places. Which I have done since recieving this rediculous letter. Oh my dad is no longer in the lampsstand.

We moved my mother to Lampstand from Fortress in January 2012. The staff has been wonderful. They are always cheerful and helpful. They call us with any concerns. They have been proactive with my mom's health. Lampstand is better staffed and we haven't seen much turn over on nurses and aids. The home is bright and clean. Since moving my mother, she has had fewer infections, fewer bruises, and has improved instead of declining. I truly wish we would have started out here. No nursing home is perfect, but I've seen far worse locally and in other cities.
