The quality of Martin Health Care (before it became Divirsecare) was a lot better. When it changed the food quality went from good to aweful. Most of the staff is very caring and I can't complain about the activities director she is the best there is hands down. When my mother-in-law first got to Martin Health Care they would call me if she broke a finger nail. Now I walk in to visit and she has a big bruise on her chin with a knot underneath. No phone call telling me what happened and no one can explain where it came from. If she is acting a little strange due to dementia they want to medicate her (knock her out) this is not the same care she got a little over a year ago. I gave one star rating because there is no half a star.

Small Nursing home, allows for more one on one time with the residents. Residents are treated like family, and seem to generally care for staff members as well. Programs are in place for restorative care (walking, eating, etc) by nursing staff. Food is reasonable to taste & well rounded, but dining room is crowded. Need to work on serving different menu as many residents say they eat the same foods repeatedly. Staffing is at appropriate levels for state and corporate levels, but could use one more per shift most days. Equipment for staff needs updating but is satisfactory for its use. Transitional Care Unit is new, and beautiful and the new Therapy Gym is wonderful. Nursing staff is all around friendly and helpful; could use a morale boost. Administrative staff is okay, social services and activities regularly on floor seeking out/ talking with residents, administrator and DON readily available to staff and residents, but not on floor too often initiating contact. Activities could be increased and having different levels would be helpful.

need more focus on the needs and wants of the residents. Administrator unconcerned about the wants of the residents. Quality food need improvement. Residents should be offered foods they are custom to eating when they were at home. Residents should be offered activities that are suitable to their needs without being child like. Administrator has no concern for the Volunteer's needs or their concerns. They focus on admitting "skilled" residents no matter their need, they admit skilled residents that they can not provide the full care they need, lots of behavioral issues
