My first visit with a family member was today. They are in the B section of your building.
I was impressed with your facility, until I entered the locked door of B section. The STENCH was horrible!!! It was hard to believe that we could walk through a building and it smelled clean, but entered that one hallway and was slapped in the face with strong urine smell. Have you not heard of Mr. Clean, Pine Sol, or even just bleach? No wonder my poor family member was afraid she'd never get to leave. The smell was very depressing. Staff members very friendly. But you have to do something about the smell in that area. Next visit…I'm bringing Lysol spray. No excuse for it!!!!

As the Administrator of this facility, I first want to apologize for the experience you had with the odor during your visit. As soon as I was made aware of your concern I made sure to address it by meeting with our Environmental Services Director and Unit Manager to discover where the issue may be coming from. We have begun daily rounding throughout the facility by department heads to address odors or concerns immediately and put a plan of action in place. There are times that it can be very difficult to control odors in our environment, and I assure you that our facility will do anything in our power to resolve them. I do hope that you and your family member continued to have a pleasant stay with us and that your needs were met otherwise. I would ask that you feel free to bring concerns like this one, and anything else that may bother you to my attention before you leave the facility and I will attend to it immediately. I am glad that overall your experience was good, and that you had a good experience with our staff.
