My brother Michael Williams is a residence at Rainbow Health & Rehab of Memphis, LLC, he has had diarrhea for the past two weeks (since Tuesday, 8/16/2011) he complained to staff and asked to go the hospital. I complained to staff. Michael's son visited him on Tuesday 8/23/2011. While there he witness his father have 3 BM's within 1 Hrs. He voiced his concerns to the staff. On that same evening I spoke to the nurse on duty and request he be admitted to the hospital. She said if he is not better before she gets off duty she would I will call the Dr. and have him sent to the hospital. One 8/26/2011 I received a call from my brother. He said he was scared. He said he still has diarrhea and that the people at the nursing home was refusing to send his to the hospital. Michael also said the dialysis nurse asked him not to come when he has diarrhea. There is no one there to clean him up.
He was feeling hopeless. At this point I didn't know what to do…So I call Rainbow and threaten to call the police and to file a law suit if my brother died because of this. A nurse at Rainbow returned my call and said they were sending my brother to the hospital. I asked that person tell Martin ( Admin. In charge) to call me. The social Worker Sherri called. I asked Sherri to tell Martin to call me. Another nurse called. I called rainbow again asking to speak to Martin. The young lady refused to give me her name. She said she didn't have too because I threaten to call the police and to file a law suit. Martin will not return my call.
