It's a shame that this hospital is the only emergency option for our small town. The staff is friendly, but that does not mean that they are capable of treating patients. Here are my experiences with this hospital so far:
* I went into the ER with a muscle pain in my lower back. The pain was unbearable, and had me in fetal position. They gave me a prescription for a gas reliever. I went home, didn't take the prescription, and just suffered through for the next few days until the pain finally passed.
* My wife went to the ER with severe acute abdominal pain. After waiting in the lobby for 4 hours, we went to another hospital where she was diagnosed, treated, and properly taken care of. We were sitting across from a woman that came to ER presenting chest pains. She was already there when we arrived, and had yet to see a doctor.
* My uncle was taken to this hospital 2 days ago presenting all of the symptoms of a stroke. They sent him home with a refill of his BP medicine, and we're still waiting on the results of the blood work.
My advice: If you can survive long enough to drive to either Simpsonville or Greenwood, DO NOT go to this hospital.
