Review of Richard M Campbell Veterans Nursing Home

My father was a resident of this facility and, thank God, I was able to get him transferred to a much better environment. The food was horrible (all cheap industrial), the CNAs preferred to smoke rather than do their jobs, management was hostile toward family members who expressed any kind of concern for their loved one, some of the residents refused to register complaints in fear of staff retaliations (in spite of the protection of anonymity), and the receptionists at the front entrance were most unwelcoming and antagonistic. Additionally, my father had personal items stolen on a regular basis which forced me to remove almost everything from his room. I lived this every day until I could no longer bear to see my father, a veteran of WWII, treated in such a degrading manner. I am one of the fortunate ones that could afford to remove my dad; unfortunately, others cannot.
