We placed my fiancee at Aristacare. The administrators made it sound like a really good place and there were activities that he would go to. We have had to fight for everything. Such as they left him in bed all day and weren't dressing him. We had to fight to get him dressed and in a wheelchair everyday. Healthwise, he was doing great when he left the post acute care center to go to Aristacare. Since at Aristacare he has declined dramatically. Currently he is at the hospital battleing several infections including Mercer. I was told by the nurse at the hospital that if he weren't so young & strong, he would most likely die from these numerous infections he has. His fever was over 103 when he got to the hospital & he had to be packed with ice. There isn't enough space to tell about all of the neglect. Do yourself a favor and thoroghly investigate any nursing home you are going to send your loved one to. We are currently in the process of bringing my fiancee home which could take up to a year after you go through all the red tape to bring someone home. My wedding dress sits in the closet waiting for the love of my life to get home. I just have to pray he doesn't die before we can get him out of there.
