I am not at all pleased with Somerton Center facility. I have a family member there. At no time when the family calls are we able to speak with him in a timely manner, the calls are transfered&bounced around and never answered before twenty,sometimes thirty rings. Twice since he's been at this facility he has developed pneumonia and was rushed to the ER and no one has called to inform the family when this took place, we found out he was at the hospital when we called Somerton to find out how he's doing, then we were told he's in the hospital with pneumonia. This is unacceptable this place should be closed down.

Depending on where you live and CNA demand verse aivilabality, can play a big role if a facility will have a Nursing Assistant Certification Class. Here where I live the demand is high for CNA's, so we do a class. Look for your states Nursing Assistant Registry Board. Also you might try starting out as a PCA(Patient Care Attendant) no certification required. Just keep calling homes in your area and see which ones do offer the class and keep checking back with them.Hope this helped Good LuckHope this helps
