Review of Langhorne Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center

Things to be aware of in advance:

1.Check under the patient for filth.

2.Notice how staff treat/talk to family members. The employees are often rude/tense as if they hate their jobs and are miserable. It makes a difference over time.

3.There is an overwhelming smell of urine in a certain spot and you wonder if everyone there is so used to it, they cannot smell it anymore.

4.Check the patient's bed and floor for pills that may not have been swallowed when drugs were administered.

5.The residents complain that the food is not good.

6.If a family member speaks up about anything, they are quickly, verbally shot-down by staff who are so defensive.

7.Check the private rate for this for-profit home.

Hi, you left out 1 thing, they over medicate the elderly with drugs such as Xanax and Zoloft and then they never tell you about it until after you find out on your own. Does an 87 year old woman need Zoloft and Xanax? Oh and by the way the in house doctor prescribed these meds. The family primary doctor never prescribed anything like this. He at least has a heart and can look at his self in the mirror. We all thought that my Mom was dying. Thank God we found out that she was just high as a kite. She looks much better now that we took her off of the drugs. Thanks for sharing people need to know what's going on in these places.

I agree this is the worst place ever! My 87 year old mother was given Xanax and Zoloft without my fathers knowledge. Needless to say,we thought that she was dying because all she did was sleep. Thank God we figured it out and took care of it immediately. I want to sue these disgusting people that are trying to sedate everyone so that they don't have to lift a finger. The in house doctor needs to be sued.
