Review of Transitions Healthcare North Huntingdon

Absolute terrible faciility. My mother is currently at this facility and I would not wish this place on my worse enemy. We discovered that she has not been bathed in over one week. She slid out of her wheel chair because she had to wait too long for assistance and now they treat her as some sort of nuissance. The PT working with my mother is definitely too young and non-compassionate regarding elderly people. She will not realize the harm that she does to her patients and their families for another 20 years when she matures with "real life" experience. During her therapy session, my mother complains that the therapist looks around at the other groups instead of focusing on her. The therapist then complains that she is not progressing (go figure). The week prior, she responded very well to a substitute PT therapist when she was away for one week but when they switched to her she regressed (go figure). I know for a fact that there is one nurse for 30 patients and two aids for 15 patients. Most of the time I have to wait for over 30 minutes to get an nurses aide's attention. Several times I stood in the hall to flag someone down (this was after waiting 15 mintues after activating the call button). It's a scarey thought that this is how our society treats the elderly. No dignity, no support and no compassion during their final years.
