"Caring Heights" is an appropriate name as I received such an outpouring of sympathy from everyone at the home when my husband passed away. I know he was loved by those who took care of him. God Bless

I recently was in this facility for rehabilitation after a total joint replacement. The PT/OT staff were outstanding; the thoroughness and intensity of therapies I received from cheerful, positive therapists proved to be an immense help to me once I was discharged to home. The nursing staff (LPNs and RNs) were professional, observant, and proactive in addressing my medical needs. The caregivers, CNAs, would rate a 3 as I saw a fair number who were more consumed in their own personal problems than in giving good care to their patients; some of the CNAs did not seem to understand the concept of working with other departments to insure continuity of overall patient care, especially with rehab patients, where scheduling is more critical. This said, the issue of employing good CNAs runs deeper than poor hiring practices or inadequate management, neither of which I am alleging in this facility's case (actually, this rating of 3 may be slightly higher than other facilities located closer to city center.) Dietary was adequate, although I found some meal choices questionable for older people with increased digestive issues ( ham sandwich, cheetos, and canned, sliced fruit for supper and some sort of scrambled egg conncoction for breakfast that tasted nothing like eggs) Other meals were much more appealing and satisfying. The activities' staff worked hard to meet a wide spectrum of cognitive and social needs for both long-term and rehabilitation patients. Overall, I would reccomend this facility for outstanding rehab services. The staff was friendlier than other facilities I have visited in the past.

My Aunt was a short term resident at Caring Heights. The staff was kind and attentive to her needs. The facility was clean and the short term room she stayed in was very warm and comfortable. She even enjoyed the meals!

My relative went to Caring Heights for short term rehab recently. My family and I found the facility to be very clean with lots of recent updates. Staff were friendly and helpful. The nursing care was very good and the therapy department and staff were outstanding! I cannot say enough good things about the therapists and what they were able to do to help my aunt regain her strength and endurance before going home. I would highly recommend this facility due to the care they provided to my loved one!

Would not recommend this nursing home to anyone. Strong odor of urine and the feeling of get them in and get them out. We were told by the local hospital that this is the best and only nursing home for rehabilitation which isn't true as there is another one very close. My family member was not happy here. Staff that are there don't care about the residents. I don't know how the federal ranking could be a 4 star, this shows that system is seriously flawed. Next time I need this kind of service I will demand the other nursing and rehab center and not let the hospital tell me where I have to go.

I was given a choice between Caring Heights and another local nursing home. I chose Caring Heights because the other nurisng home is larger and I wanted a more home, less institutional feel to rehabilitate from my knee surgery. My room was on their rehab section. The rooms are very nice, remodeled, clean, and I had my own TV. The nursing staff treated me with respect and the therapy staff were outstanding to say the least. My stay was optimal and when I left to return home I was healed and walking better than before my surgery. I thank Caring Heights for giving me great rehab and a great stay!

Would not recommend this facility to anyone. Although the occupational and physical therapy staff are experienced, professional, and friendly; the CNA's are rude, uncaring, and very unprofessional at this facility. I have caught CNA's using patient room phones when the patients were in recreation or therapy; and I have also experienced them carrying on in the halls unprofessionally when visiting patients. The elderly wait too long at this facility for assistance when called and there is no communication being departments as it concerns patient information. The laundry service is TERRIBLE! The worst is how the business office tricks you into paying more than required up front. This is a facility who cares about profit and NOT about patients. If I had to do it over again, my Mother would have never been in this facility…not even short term.

I had a family member who stayed at Caring Heights because it was close for people to visit. Most of the people were nice, but there were a few who were not. They are terribly understaffed. My aunt would have to wait for very long periods for someone to assist her. I saw many people whose needs were totally ignored as staff stood and talked . Rooms and bathrooms are dirty. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Caring Heights is great for short term therapy or long term living! It feels like home unlike other nursing homes that have an institutional feel. Go and see for yourself! Your family member will thank you for it!
