My Mother, who passed in June, 2011, stayed at this facility, after I transferred her from another, where I felt she was mistreated. Mom, though she suffered from dementia, was very animated when she showed appreciation or disgust. At the "other" facility, she often expressed disgust when staff acted compassionate while I was there; however, while at Coweta Manor, she greeted staff with a warm and loving smile. On her good days, she would exclaim, "Oh! I LOVE Her!" (or Him). The staff at Coweta Manor is genuinely concerned, and they take time to "love" your family member on a daily basis, when you are unavailable. Mom was always clean, her nails done, her hair clean/brushed. The Administrator took any complaint seriously. Since I didn't have one, I teasingly told her one day, "I need to talk to you about your CNAs, …. & …..!" She calmly said, "Please, come in to my office." I said, "Yeah! Your CNAs? They are AWESOME!!!" (giggles) The Dietician worked diligently in adapting to Mom's ever-changing palate. The Nurses were vigilant in keeping Mom as comfortable as possible, while also tending to her medical needs.
