My grandmother was recently discharged from this facility and the best thing I could ever say is that she now lives with my aunt. My grandmother is suffering with the begining stages of dementia, and she needed physical therapy for her feet. When my family scheduled her discharge date, it was made so everyone was there to help with my grandma, moving her things ect. Kenton Nursing & Rehab had known for TWO WEEKS what day everything was going to happen. My grandma was getting a hospital bed, cammode and several other things to help with her therapy at home- the paperwork was NEVER faxed to her insurance company (they were paying a larger portion) My mother is a home health nurse, it was her company that was actually going to be sending someone to my grandma, her director had everything ready to go, appointment made; all they were waiting on was the paper work. So now since, this facility was horribly lacking in doing their job- my grandmother will not have a bed/cammode until next week! How is she supposed to go to the bathroom when she almost physically can not stand by herself!? The kicker to all this, when she & my aunt left the nursing home, NOT ONE person came out to help get her in the car, not one person asked if thet needed anything. My 75 year old grandmother could not get into my aunts vehicle- my aunt and uncle couldn't get her into by themselves. Yet again, NO ONE helped or even asked. My uncle left to go see if he could borrow someone's car to get her home, my Great aunt and cousin had to drive from Forest to help. So in the end my grandma and aunt had to sit out side on a chilly windy day-for an hour and wait for someone to get them; my aunt literally in tears. I just can not believe that NO ONE thought "hey maybe they need help" or just a kind "is there anything we can do?"
