Review of Roanoke River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I would not go there. My advice- stay away. Here's why-- I know people from the community who went there for care and ended up developing pressure ulcers. Abuse allegations? Well- they said they were "not proved" but I do know money goes missing from the residents rooms regularly. They replace it to keep the peace. If you ask the Aides if the place has enough help they nearly always say they are working short-handed. They turn over up to 75% of their Aides in a given year. They can't hold onto help, especially help on the frontlines. There are very few private rooms so you will have to get a roommate. The weekend activities are run by volunteers and are mostly BINGO. Boring. No wireless PC. No in-room cable. Only if you have no other choice. And then keep a close eye on your loved one. Keep copies of the medical record-- especially skin records and lab results. Take notes of conversations. Good luck
