  • Brightmoor Nursing Center Salisbury, North Carolina 28145

okay. where do I begin. I had two options when the neuro rehab was discharging my loved one to a skilled nursing home. I did my research… and didn't choose Brightmoor because it had poor ratings. I didn't give them the time of day. They even reached out to me and I ignored their call. I put my loved one in another facility that had good ratings with the state and admissions lady was wonderful. after one week in the other facility my loved one stated he wished he had died. so I discharged him and he is at the facility I was bound and determined he wasn't going to go to. But… I am SO grateful he is a Brightmoor Nursing Center. I was told its under new ownership and the staff is so compassionate to my loved one. He already looks healthier when I go see him. He says he likes this place. He is clean… the staff is compassionate. I am glad I had a bad experience so that I was forced to move him and he is now at Brightmoor. If I could post pictures… that would say enough. I was told by someone when looking into a nursing home… don't listen to what admissions says.. with the smile… look at the patients. This place wouldn't even accept my loved one until I went to the facility and checked it out for myself. That in itself says something. This place must have had some difficult times in the past. But today… I feel comfortable that my loved one is cared for and is clean in this facility. it is two hours from my home… but I would rather for my loved one to be hours from my home with compassionate care than somewhere else where staff and admin don't care about anything but a paycheck and money in the bank. The mental and spiritual mindset of a person goes along way. and for some people that is all they have. but never will you get stronger when you are neglected and mistreated. I was smiles when I left there last night. Wonderful patients too… they support each other and they don't hate it their. Living and learning. For now… this is a good place in my loved ones journey of recovery. He has a severe traumatic brain injury. He is middle aged.
