Review of Cornerstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

1 Star User Review

I would not give this rehab/nursing home one star. My father was admitted for rehab from the hospital, to help get his strength back and be able to walk. He was 84 years old and granted he had congestive heart failure, but he was admitted for rehab only. I live out of state, but would receive calls from a friend of his stating that the staff was not getting him out of bed for rehab. Unknown to me at the time, my father's health was continually going downhill. His friend called me the 7th of August,2013 and told me Dad was having difficulty breathing. I called the nursing home and asked that he be seen by a doctor. The answer I got to that was "We have a doctor come in once a month". I asked, what if someone needs to see one before then? I then told whomever I was speaking to I wanted my father seen immediately, as I was told he was having trouble breathing. Later that evening I got a call from Cornerstone stating they had admitted my father to the hospital. His stats when he got to the hospital were terrible. Pneumonia in his left lung, blood ox down to about 35 and blood sugar level down to about 30. Needless to say I headed out to Dunn. By the time I arrived, my fathers fingers and toes were blue, his kidneys had failed, his bp was kept up with dopamine and he had a bipack forcing air into his lungs. My father died on the 9th of August. If you have a loved one, do not leave them to be neglected at Cornerstone. I just wish I had lived closer and had been aware of the neglect.
