I have never reviewed anything online before, but I wanted to respond to a couple of the negative reviews. My Aunt is a resident here. She is 87, has dementia, cannot walk etc.
This is her 4th nursing facility and by far the best. She is on medicaid. She is always clean, nurses are attentive and she gets plenty of attention. It is amazing at the difference in the cleanliness and brightness from other nursing homes I have seen. We are not naive about these facilities-the past 1 1/2 years have sometimes been a nightmare, and we have learned a lot the hard way. At other facilities, she has had bedsores, fallen and been ignored, lay in a soaking wet bed and over medicated. The facilities were so depressing. At Mecklenburg, however, she is happy and we feel like a hugh heartache and worry has been taken away. As I said, this is my Aunt. I would gladly put my parents here if necessary and I would recommend to my friends, which I do not do lightly.
Is it possible that another facility with a similar name, Charlotte Health Care,
has been confused with Mecklenburg Health Care? My Aunt was at Charlotte
Health Care also and I was certainly not impressed.
It is not easy to leave a loved one to be cared for by strangers. To anyone facing
this challenge, I say visit homes and walk through without a representative. Watch
the interaction between patient and caregivers, watch the cafeteria-are the patients
who have a hard time feeding themselves assisted. Is anyone ignored? I will
say again that I have had an education in the health care system- I hope I never have to stay in a nursing home, but if I do, I hope it is similar to Mecklenburg H.C.
