Review of Pisgah Manor Health Care Center

2 Star User Review

Very outdated facility! "CARPET" in the hallways, which holds odors from accidents that occur from residents. Not enough CNA's for 100+ residents… only (2) per wing. Each wing has 20-25 residents. Would not recommend this facility!

hmm the facts on the review are not acurate- I am a former employee- I had to move out of state and when I moved back there just weren't any openings- people don't leave very often-DNS has been there over 20 years, she started as a Nurse. I visited and even did some part time work for them in the office and there was more than the state required for staffing- they have been hurt like so many other facilities and health agencies with the Medicare cuts and this has reduced residents and staff. The staff and residents are family- During the aftermath of flooding in the area, due to hurricane in 2003- they were without running water- Many staff stayed at the facility for days to make sure the residents had care and we had to do some creative hygiene to keep infection down- we were concerned with the flu going around and stressful situation for our residents well being and I am proud of how we kept everyone safe in that circumstance. As for the carpets- they are steam cleaned everyday- The Center is set up to be an Eden facility with pets, children, teens from the private boarding school next door, and carpets- not institutional- Yes- accidents happen and some residents who are ill will have a strong odor when they do- I assure you they are cleaned up and disinfected. Further more, if something were to ever happen to me I would want to be at my home or Pisgah Manor- and that is saying a lot.
