Review of Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

4 Star User Review

My 91 year old mother is currently a patient at Diamond Hill. She was transferred there from the hospital to regain her strength after breaking her leg, along with having physical therapy.

Naturally, when I learned of the facility she was sent to I started reading reviews online about Diamond Hill. They were not favorable. I stated this to administration and was told that they were under new management, staff changes had taken place and they were working towards improving the facility.

I was nervous to keep my mother there but decided to give them a chance. I am glad I did. I have found everyone there to be wonderful. The staff greets everyone with a smile and verbal greeting. The hallways and rooms are clean. Floors are polished. I observed maintenance cleaning air filters in each room along with changing air freshners. The nurses are approachable and willing to discuss the daily care my mother is receiving. The aides quickly remedy any situations they see to make sure a resident is comfortable and safe. The food staff takes the time to discuss dietary needs, likes and dislikes. They take note of what was eaten or not. Physical therapy constantly keeps me informed of my mother's progress.

My mothers care has been excellent. The staff has been attentive to all her needs. Mom mentioned to me that during the night someone came in to check on her and brought her an extra blanket saying….."I brought you an extra blanket since it is cold out tonight and I know that you are often cold." The aide's thoughtfulness was appreciated. Mom has had a lot of issues and everything has been taken care of with a smile and the knowledge that they are there to care for her. I have watched how other residents are cared for and found that it is similiar to my mother's.

Mom will probably be there for for a couple of weeks more before coming home. I trust she will continue to have a good experience there.

The only negative I can think of is that it is an older facility and doesn't have the modern "sparkle" that you might see in a new facility.

I believe that Diamond Hill is changing in a positive way from the reviews of a year ago.
