We were fooled too! Looks good at first but a torture chamber!!! The staff does not care - our mom suffered so much here at the hands of incompetent and uncaring staff. The owner Bob Heppenheimer only cares about bilking the insurance companies and Medicaid out of as much as he can. One of his own aides told me to "get my mother out of here as soon as possible because Hilaire will milk her for all they can get!" Wow! I would call every evening to check on our mom and she'd be sitting in a wheelchair in the freezing nurses station just so they could keep her from yelling for help in the middle of the night-her bed alarm was faulty and she fell out of bed and hit her head - ended up having to be transported to huntington hospital to have her head scanned!! Every time I called to check on my mother, she was crying about how the staff abused her or ignored her - she was afraid to ask for anything because she said they would be rough with her. She was frequently wet up to her ears because she was incontinent whenever we visiting her. Just despicable and unconscionable treatment of innocent, dependent human beings. When your hospital caseworked asks where you want your loved one to go at discharge, do NOT choose Hilaire! You will be sorry
