Review of Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

1 Star User Review

Staff tried on 2 occasions to give my mother the WRONG medication. One nurse insisted my mother had a heart trans plant. Mother had a CORNEA transplant. Nursing staff also gave her eye drops in both eyes. Both eyes required a different eye drop in each, which mother had supplied. The same eye drop was put in both eyes. She was left sitting on a bed pan for more than an hour on numerous occasions. Social services insisted mother received therapy on the weekends. Social services also tried to set up the wrong visiting nurse for mother's home care. NEVER had she gotten therapy on a weekend. One nurse would throw mother's clothes at her. Medication that should have been given in the morning was given at night along with all other medications. In addition, mother never saw a staff doctor during her stay to explain her injury. She even asked on numerous occasions to have her injury explained. She saw a wound specialist via a computer scype, never the staff doctor. Social service person gave the impression of being very much in need of more training.
