All nursing homes are bad, but this is the worst I have ever seen. And it is dangerous, very dangerous. They can take your family member away from you with fake health proxies and fake powers of attorney. (Read the reviews in this site and other sites.) In my case, I wanted to transfer my uncle to another nursing home, for which I needed the social worker to prep and send his medical record, but she refused. Saying that he was COMPETENT; CAPABLE; FULLY COGNITIVE, AND CAPABLE OF MAKING HIS OWN DECISIONS. THAT HE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE AND THEY HAD TO HONOR HIS WISHES.
However, my uncle has dementia and of course, he is not any of those things, and I have a power of attorney for him.
I went, pick him up, and had to go thru one of the worst experiences of my life, and they reported me to Adult Protective Service, WHICH SIDED WITH THEM!!!
