Review of Kings Harbor Multicare Center

3 Star User Review

Surely not a 5-star facility. For the most part it's good to know that elderly family member is in a clean, safe environment that can help improve health with physical therapy, onsite dialysis, activities and special dietary needs. It would help if some staff members had better training in patient care with regards to being friendlier and nonchalant. There are a handful of members you can talk to about your concerns for your loved one and they will react immediately with a solution, while others will hear you as opposed to listen and react as if you just needed an ear to let out your concerns.

There is no doctor on site, so patient must wait hours until he/she arrives if there are any major issues, during which countless of nurses will come in, ask same questions, take vitals and carry on with the rest of their duties.

Furthermore, while the food looks and smells great, it's oftentimes repetitive. It's understood that some patients require special diets, but it can get blagh after a while. For example your loved ones might get the same meal for lunch and dinner with little change say in the vegetables or dessert 2-3 times a week. So loved ones would greatly appreciate outside food if they're able to have it.

Also, whatever happened to the multilingual staff as portrayed in the commercials? As far as I see, there are none which can be a challenge for non or limited English speaking patients.

Another area that needs improvement is the first group of people that you see when you enter the facility. By that I mean, security & secretary at the front desk where family & friends sign in. It seems a few have selective greeting capabilities. Would be nice if they showed the same courtesy to ALL visitors that walk in the door to visit family members. They (excluding weekend staff & females) are not friendly at all even when you greet them politely…everyday!
