I am very happy with Albany Co. Nursing Home. My father-in-law had been in 3 nursing homes for rehab, and two assisted living facilities, before coming to Albany Co. Nursing Home for his last several months. The care he received was excellent, both in physical care and emotional/social. He had serious bed sores, and the staff did an excellent and sensitive job in caring for him physically. His fragile skin did not look so well at any other facility. Staff were upbeat, friendly, engaged him socially, and make sure he got out to the living area and was involved and included. He felt warmly cared for in the last months of his life at Albany Co. Nursing Home. This facility should NOT be privatized. County benefits draw better staff, and the care would not be the same. The physical facility is not impressive, but who cares? My loved one was well cared for, and I would rather have that than a beautiful decor that feels proper and chilly in demeanor.
