Review of Uptown Rehabilitation Center

This is a god awful place for anyone trying to recover. My 93 year old grandmother has been there for rehab from surgery. Thus far physical therapy consists of walking up and down a hallway with her walker. She's been there almost 2 weeks and has yet to have a bath or shower. I know this because a nurse called to say that she has a terrible bump on her head. Yes, she does and it's from the fall she took when all this began in the emergency room 3 weeks ago. If she'd had her hair washed (which by the looks of her there's no evidence of that) it would have been apparent to the person giving her the bath. She now has a urinary tract infection, which was suspected on Monday. I suspect it's from being left to pee in her diaper all day without a change. Today is Friday and they still have not provided antibiotics, even though the test came back positive for a UTI on Tuesday. This is not without a great deal of protest on our part which falls on deaf, angry ears. She's left to sit in the hallway in her wheelchair, lined up with other patients all day between trips to the dining room and physical therapy. She has begun to deteriorate in such a horrible way that we are removing her from this facility ASAP before she dies. When we told the nurse, she said, "oh your Medicare must have run out." I replied with no, your care is horrible, for which she was visibly defensive and offended. If you care about your family (even slightly) don't leave them here. Most people treat there dogs better than these people treat their patients.
