great facility and great care!
My late aunt was here and received horrible service. The food was tasteless, floors were very dirty, personnel were understaffed.
The whole floor smelled like soiled diapers. After 5 PM..you can't find a nurse or aid! Residents were screaming for help while the employees were playing on their cell phones at various corners of the facility.
All in all…AVOID this facility!
Could've been great! They practice bait and switch…. But there is a huge difference between the 2 penthouse floors and long term floors. The aides are overworked and underpaid. But worse part is medical care. All new tenants are directed to only 2 of several doctors. Nurses are encouraged to change g tubes in-room!!! Amidst screams in unsterile rooms though directly across the street from terrific hospital. The EMT's warned us! I've seen shirtless and freezing wheelchair resident sitting at the nurses station for more than 30 minutes begging to be taken back to his room. I'll never forget this… He had cancer like purplish bruises over body and was the thinnest man I'd ever seen… (could see some kind of heart box, (implant) right through his thin skin). I asked the aide to help but she was off duty… Flirting with the janitor in the dining room. No one seemed to care. They also have a locked unit as oppose to integrating it's memory care patients. We complained also about a 20 something resident being handled inappropriately by male staff… The employee came directly to me (the whistle blower), to ask me not to complain to his boss. The place is called Morris Kills my some medical professionals.
Dangerous! This place turns into the house of horrors at night. Like too many, the main level looks great but take a tour of the lower level. Aides yell at tenants routinely. The manager has worked there since prior management for 30 years; (when It use to be something). Trying to get out was complicated… They erect all kinds of unexpected financial barriers; Included calling Medicaid to argue with their reps that we didn't have days left to transfer to another facility. A few good nurses though you'll find plenty of their downsized nurses working in neighboring facilities, with honest cautionary tales. Please find a family member who can be compensated as a care giver and keep your love one home! We still have nightmares.
We visited several private facilities but found this one to be the best for our mother. Mom has been there for several years now, unable even to feed herself. The care she receives at Morris View is outstanding. The facility is exceptionally clean and bright. We've watched as others have transferred their loved ones from private facilities, where they were disappointed, to Morris View. Most are tremendously relieved. We pray this place will be here for the future.
Rehab is done by an outside non-profit and is very good. Food is decent and the cafeteria staff very nice. Nursing staff is not very skilled and at times neglectful. Overnight care is atrocious. Only consider if your loved one is coherent enough to advocate for themselves or if you can be there on a daily basis to oversee what is going on and advocate for them. Be aware that there are some downright nasty nursing staff so be prepared to deal with that stress in addition to the regular worries about your loved one.
My mother was a resident here. I had to remover her from Lincoln Park Care Center because it is an absolute horror. The facility is dirty and smells of urine and feces at all times. Patients are not cleaned properly and left to sit in dirty diapers. I begged for help from doctors, nurses and administration and was met with outright lies. The social worker, nurse coordinator and nurse practitioner lied directly to me about my mothers care. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone! It is an awful, horrible place. My mother has since died at a different facility due to the negligence of Lincoln Park Care Center.
Only good things to say about this place
i would like to advise anyone who reads this and would like the utmost in care for their dear family member NOT to choose King James Care Center. my poor grandmother lived into her 90's and was mentally alert and continent to her death. at king james profit seems to be of highest priority because while we were visiting staff was not available to take her to use the bathroom..she'd wait hours for someone to come, until she could not wait any longer. this is humiliating and should not occur in a healthcare facility meant to provide services to people at their level of ability. the people who attended her were kind but overworked and understaffed. the food was not great. her television broke during the last months there before she died and no one came and fixed it. this was her primary company besides her visitors. a women in the next room continually cried for help after her family left for the day and no one came to check on her or make her more comfortable for hours. a doctor, paid by the facility recommended my grandma remain there when i believe she would have been far better off in her home. or anywhere. i hope you take this review and search for a better facility if you have the means. you will not regret it.
The best of the best
The facility is old, furnishings and decor out of date, but folks are there to get well, and that shouldn't be an issue. Some staff members are very good and conscientious, but the medical care itself is poor. For the first week, my mom was being overmedicated and had no energy to perform the physical therapy that she was there for. I had a tough time getting a hold of the physician in order to question what drugs and what dosages she was receiving. The staff kept badgering her to get up and do her exercises, and no one thought to question why she was so lethargic. Eventually she improved, but someone in the facilty without a spouse or child to advocate for them may not do so well.
Wish I could give 0 stars. Can I? No medical care AT ALL for folks (a "doctor" comes in once a week) and patients are left to themselves. It is such a sad, sad place. I regret the day my father set foot in that place and am working every day to get him out.
They do a great job taking care of my Grandmother! All the staff is friendly. They did lose some of her clothes even though we told them we would do laundry they took them anyway.
They were incredible for my mom. she was there for rehabilitation after a fall. very caring staff - felt like fmily. the nurses were great the rehab was top notch - the food was good. the responsiveness of management was good. we would definately return. They have really improved. thanks
My Mother has been in MH for 2yrs. I regret the Day. We are trying to find a another place for her, but keep getting set back by one incident after another that requires our attention for her sake. The workers we Trust either get fired or leave and we are left with what's left. The Docs do the bare min. Unless you intervine. I have watched so many arrive looking good and in a matter of months they are in aweful shape. 1 is worst- 5 is best? I give Merry Heart 111111111111111111111111 in infinite I stay up nites trying to figure how to undo the damage, arranging the papers so the Real Doctors can save the time on tests that the answers were right there but never acted on until I started investigating every blood and urine test result myself.
I am writing this review from a doctor’s office. I’m a surgical scheduler and I’ve dealt with multiple patients that reside out of this nursing home. I’m writing this review because I’ve exhausted myself trying got get through to the staff at Lincoln Park Care Center. I’ve have multiple patients have to be canceled because of the following reason; Their medical clearance that was requested by us was never completed, the staff never stopped the patients correct medications, the patient was transferred to the WRONG facility, the staff never put the patients appointment down in their book. Now this is all within the last 6months. I’ve spoken to the director of nursing, head charge nurses on the patients’ floor and still nothing. To confirm an appointment I make sure to speak to a nurse on the floor, I fax the information to that nurse’s attention and I mail the information! They have even lied saying the DON was not in but yet when I call her line she answers. It’s disgusting and I’ve dealt with other nursing homes and have had no problems. SO yet again one of my patients had to be canceled for a ridiculous reason on their part and I can’t keep letting this happen. Their motto is “We care and it shows” Well I’m not seeing it!! Do whatever you can to keep your loved one out of this facility for everyone’s sake!!
They don't take care of patients they let them get bed sores
The staff is nice enough, fairly clean. I visit my aunt and find her in soaking wet diaper and clothing; they use the flimsy diapers, not Depends. Sunday dinner is a tuna sandwich on white bread with a cup of broth. I spend several hours and nobody offers the residents a drink of water; they get a half can of diet soda w/dinner.
This is a good facility. They always try very hard to keep the residents healthy and active, whether it be with activities, therapy, entertainment. There always seems to be something for them to take part in. The nurses and CNAs are very good and very caring, and the turnover rate is virtually non-existent. That says a lot for the staff here. The food….not the best, but certainly not terrible. This is a large facility, and by the time the meals are delivered to the residents, they are cooling off a bit. My mother has been a resident for 6 years, and they take very good care of her and make sure she's safe. One final note, the place is clean clean clean! There are no unpleasant odors upon entering Morris View, and the units as well. It isn't perfect, but I would give them a solid 4 stars!
