Terrible. Money-grubbing corner-cutters. Mom was going through a tough time and Care One made it all so, so much worse. She's scared and in pain and has some physical therapist screaming at her about her insurance cutting her off. Make the staff work in any way and they immediately quit on the patient. She was calling for help at night and instead of getting the doctor to examine her they just moved her to the end of the hall and left her there to yell. Turned out she was dying from a blood clot in her lung, which the real doctors at the hospital caught in about five minutes. I'd find her pills on the floor, she'd be sitting there all day without even a cup of water, she got a nasty rash from not being properly changed and cleaned, it was horrible.

Real class at CO. They take a huge check from me then they discharge her with no warning at all, forcing me to scramble to get the money back, find transportation and everything else. Waited three hours to get her scripts when they booted her out, no attention to detail at all.

I was here last year as a patient and it was horrible. The food was horrible, the care was horrible and it was filthy. After a friend having a recent good experience I decided to give it another try and was pleasantly surprised. The nurses and therapists were fantastic and always pleasant and willing to help. The aides have also improved quite a bit. The food was better and the kitchen staff more pleasant. Other than a few minor issues I had a great stay at care one and would recommend it.

The worst place ever. The first thing you notice is how filthy this place is. My father in law was in this dump and was miserable from the first day. The smell of urine hits you as soon as you walk in. The staff is the most uncaring, ignorant and arrogant I have ever seen. The head nurse was standing around while patient buzzers were ringing non-stop. My Father-in-law said he had to use the bathroom very badly and rang his bell. After waiting for 30 minutes he finally pulled himself into his wheelchair and went alone. This is not safe at all. When we approached the head nurse she had a nasty attitude and said my father in-law was lying about waiting so long. While she was lying about everything that came out of her mouth the patient bells rang for over 15 minutes without anyone showing a sense of any urgency at all. When the orderly came in while we were there he had an angry look on his face as if we were a bother. He helped my father in law and washed him up and to our disgust he didn't even wash his hands. My father in law asked for a drink of water and the orderly with his bad attitude took his dirty used cup with his unwashed hands and dipped the dirty cup with his unwashed hands into the ice bin (totally unsanitary) and brought him a cup of water.

Also while we were discussing the extra long wait after my father in law rang the bell. The head nurse accused him of lying and just at that moment a nurse walked up in disgust and told the head nurse that she needed help because she was caring for a patient and three other patient bells were ringing and another family was helping their father into the bathroom because he couldn't wait any longer. That showed that the head nurse was the real liar, not my father in law. At that moment she shut the bell off that had been buzzing for over 15 minutes and within a few seconds it started to ring again. She shut it off and it almost immediately started to ring again, and then it happened again. She was obviously trying to prevent us from seeing how long it really took to attend to the patients. What if someone was ringing the bell due to chest pains? They'd probably die waiting for the barely literate, broken English speaking, obviously low paid, uncaring, rude staff to come find them dead. This place is a health hazard and nobody should ever be admitted here. This morning my 80 yr old father in law was left alone in the shower and fell. Left alone at 80 yrs old. If you want your loved ones to survive take them somewhere other than this God forsaken hell hole.

If you love your family DONT GO HERE. Elderly abuse. We are filing with state and federal agencies. They neglect, abuse and mistreat their patients. Dont provide services in timely manner. Ignore patent medical requests and problems. Act harshly and rude when a complaint is filed. Had 2 parents in Care One facilities. (Edison & East Brunswick) Both places are terrible. Do not put your worst enemy here. They are a dangerous unhealthy enviorment. BEWARE…

The care at this place is just awful.

My mother is 88 and bed-bound and she was put in this facility to recover after a hospitalization. I knew this placement was a mistake the minute we walked in. The one aide who had to get her into her wheelchair asked me to help lift her . The aide then pushed her down the hallway half hanging out of the chair to the scale to weigh her. I then had to help the aide lift her to get her into bed.

The aides are inattentive, unfriendly and seem to hate their jobs. My mother was severely bruised by their rough treatment (when they finally did come into the room to give her some attention). It was routine to go over at 3 in the afternoon and find that she had not yet been cleaned and changed.

They rave about their "gourmet" food, but by comparison the hospital food looked like it came from a 5 star restaurant. "Dinner" one night was stale bread with one slice of thin turkey on it. They didn't even bother to put it on a plate - it came wrapped in plastic wrap.

I understand their rehabilitation program is really good. But this is not a place for someone who can't get around on their own.

Do not put your loved one in here. Run away as fast as you can.
