BEWARE-BLUE RIVER IS LIKE A SCREEN PLAY FOR A BAD MOVIE. LAZY STAFF WILL BE OUT SOON.
This facility was in the process of making some great changes from May 2014-November 2014. The administrator was amazing and so was the social services and therapy departments! Unfortunately a new administrator came aboard end of the year and he is driving the place right back into the ground!! Maybe if he and the DON could stop making googly eyes at each other they would actually get things done! Instead complaints and nursing issues are completely neglected. The administrator told my sister she doesn't belonging a LTC facility but rather assisted living. And that she makes others uncomfortable by her presence there! Absolutely awful!! Get rid of the administrator and DON and you might get things right again!
A staff of hardworking sweethearts. Everyone gets loving attention.
The person that answered my very first call - and therefore the first impression - seemed very 'put out' by my call.
I said I was looking for a facility for…and she interrupted me and I was put on hold. She came back and said the Dir. of Admissions wasn't there, to call back at 10 tomorrow.
As I needed to know today, because the doctor wanted to know where they were to go, I asked if they accepted a specific insurance. She interrupted again, that she didn't know anything. I figured a nurse usually knew…but…
…you guessed it, I Won't be calling there again!
Recent past year drastic change in employees. No one is happy, scowling faces. Too few staff. Daily hygiene of patients and facility are poor. Complaints get you nowhere. Question whether new ownership, severe neglectful treatment.
Quality and food choices are pathetic, giant scoops up starch packed on plates. Nothing fresh is offered. They just don't care.
If you're taken on a tour they keep you in the rehab new side of building where there is nicer furniture, but if you go into regular semi privates rooms you see ancient beds, poor thin mattresses and beds and sticky floors and furniture. Some days the smell of urine and feces is so strong you gag.
This is a shameful operation.
My father-in-law was a patient there before he passed away. The care, compassion, and the cleanliness was outstanding. The nurses were professional, caring, and really knew there stuff. I realize that no one is perfect and that people make mistakes, but they owned up to anything we preceived as being wrong and they proved to find a solution. We are glad to have been there and would recomend it to anyone.
This place should be closed down due to harsh treatment. People were left on bed pans in excess of 45-60min. When wiped they were wiped incorrect causing infection patient was in severe pain due to several back fractures. By improper proceures they did not hook her oxgen into her CPAP.This caused her to pass. another person in room fell and laid on floor for 20-35 Min. Food was substandard and always served cold. Some nurses were rude and could cars less about the people needing help. I fill that this place took someone dear to me. They will have to answer to god someday. And remember what goes around comes around
Great place. Nursing staff and therapy department were absolutely wonderful!
Staff in care unit has never given a straight answer regarding any issue…they are experts at giving excuses and fail at being on top of things. Med Wing suggests plans for paitents but then do not follow through….One must monitor this area of Armour Oaks continually and never assume what you are told is what is being one.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would! I worked as a Social worker in this place with one specific individual for quite some time and found this facility to be an absolute NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!! It is filthy, the food is deplorable, putrid, disgusting. The caregivers are insensitive and in some cases mean & rude. There is a certain facade that the general public will see, but behind those electronic doors, it's a whole different ball game. Everything you see on their home page is a lie. The rooms are absolutely FILTHY! As a professional, I could not do my job because I was so busy doing the job of the facilitators. I had to change my patient's sheets, clean his room, help him with his personal needs. Those people who aren't fortunate enough to have an outside case worker (this is most of them) are in for a very rude awakening. I used to call it the Cuckoo's Nest, but it so much worse than One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest. If you even consider putting a loved one into this HELL, you are making the most grave mistake of your life. My eyes were opened to this place on a weekly basis. The only reason that I do not try to legally do something about it is because I am afraid that other places, God forbid, might be worse!!! I've seen this place go through inspections that PASSED (I don't know how), I've seen patient complaints to authorities turn on the patients, and I've seen retaliation. One is almost afraid to seek recourse or make complaints because the entire system is ROTTON TO THE CORE! They take people's social security checks, feed them slop, don't adequately care for them, AND they get by with it!!! I would LOVE to see a full blown investigation of this facility - but I'm deathly afraid that other facilities are like this. OH! And don't believe that BUNK about them having a Doctor, a barber, qualified nursing staff, etc. It's all lies! My patient went WEEKS with 2 separate injuries and I begged and begged for a doctor's care. They don't have one. They get ahold of whatever doctor will take medicare/medicaid (and there aren't many) and it can literally take WEEKS for the patient to get medical attention. This place needs to be shut down! For the LOVE OF GOD DO NOT PUT YOUR RELATIVE IN THIS PLACE!!!!!!
The nursing home has problems notifying my either my father-in-law (patient) or mother-in-law about appointments with outside providers. We have talked with the nursing home about keeping the son and mother involved and that continues to be ignored by the social workers that schedule the appointments. We've been told by the Director of Nursing that this would not happen again and yet today we are dealing with the same issue again. My mother-in-law visits my father-in-law multiple times a day everyday. And still no one can seem to find the time to tell her or my father-in-law that there is an appointment. The excuse for not notifying the son or daughter-in-law is that it's too many people to notify. They are not even telling my father-in-law and he is in the facility.
We've had a good experience at Corner Brook Place. Recent remodeling is very nice. Staff has been friendly and helpful.
Unethical business practices.
FILTHY assisted living conditions
Incorrect filing of medicare & medicaid paper work to authorize treatment.
If insurance doesn't pay because of their error…THEY WILL CHARGE YOU!
GET EVERYTHING THEY SAY TO YOU OVER THE PHONE OR IN PERSON IN WRITING!!!
This facility is absolutely fabulous. The nurses are great and the facility is absolutely beautiful. Dont be fooled by the medicare ratings which are old and based on the previous owner. My mother is at this facility and whatever she needs they provide and its very clean. The clean all day long there is absolutely no smell. The beds are electric, the TV's are flat screen and wide, each room has their own heater and air and BATHROOM with a shower. Its unreal. I would highly recommend it.
My mom received wonderful care from this place after she fell and broke her hip. The therapy department was great and really got my mom up and moving again. The nursing staff was very tentative to my mom's needs. Julie really saw to my mom staying clean and refreshed. I was nervous to send my mom there but it turned out to be the best decision I could have made.
The Nursing Staff needs a better communication system with the Doctors on Staff. My family member went one week with no Dr's order, only Nursing orders! Nicole and Christina seemed to be the only ones that were structured in their jobs!
I do not find any improvement needed with Social Services or the Therapy Dept, they were awesome!
Unethical Business!!!! Will take advantage of your trust fund & they don't honor their lease agreements! Don't pay upfront for ANYTHING!!
Filthy conditions in assisted living!!! HORRIBLE FOOD!!! HORRIBLE HOUSE KEEPING
They are unethical in there business office!!
They don't honor there lease contracts & they steal your money!!!
DON'T LIVE HERE!! They take advantage of the elderly and abuse their finances!!
The care here is horrendous. The place smells of urine and the staff are rude, uncaring and uneducated. I hope the caretakers at this institutions when they become seniors receive the same care they gave. If I could give negative stars I would
I have nothing but good things to say about my time spent at Timberlake Care Center and their management team. Their Rehab services, food and nursing are excellent.
While there were some great medical staff, I wasn't happy over all, esp with the administration of the Health/Medicare rehab unit. My mother stayed a week and literally cried daily bc she couldn't go home. They planned to keep her another 2 weeks but as soon as I saw her making fast improvements & becoming more independent again (thanks to the great PT & OT folks), I brought her to my home. This was less than 24hrs ago and she's made a huge turn around emotionally already. She was terrified there for various reasons but except for making empty promises, the admin didn't care to take my suggestions to make my mom more at ease. I'd never recommend this place.
Great facility. They genuinely care about their residents. It's not the fanciest home but it's clean and they care, and for me that's all that matters.
Horrible place. They lost my grandfather for 8hours. My parents found him roaming around near our house. We had no idea he had been missing. The facility then tried to say it's not their responsibilty even though he is a dementia patient and should not be leaving the facility. DO NOT send family members here. We regret it and are deeply hurt.
This place is filthy and some of the staff are inattentive to client's needs. It is difficult to gain entrance to the facility and difficult to leave even though staff are scattered around the locked area, they don't seem motivated to help. I was disgusted by the filthy conditions and the filthy carpets.
great nursing team wonderful place
