My mother was here for close to 3 years and left to live in a group home where it did not work out so she had to go back into a nursing home and she was not able to get back into Cherrywood…now that she is in another place she truly realizes how good she had it at cherrywood, She is a young person (58) but a stroke left her unable to care for herself any longer and unfortunately neither can I, I think she just didn't realize how good of a place it really was-but at 58 you think its the worst place to be.

Its clean-doesn't smell like urine, they have activities, and lots of areas you can visit privately with your family and tables set up so you can bring food..my toddler always enjoyed looking at the birds out in the front and the fish tank. The nurse aids can be slow at times but that happens just about everywhere. The nurses were always very nice. I wish my mother could get back in but this place has very limited Medicaid beds and I doubt she will ever be able to get back in. She's really kicking herself now

I previously submitted a review regarding the Sterling Hts facility, but for some unknown reason it was never published!

I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone!!! In general, the staff was neglectful…it appears that they are trained how to ignore the patients when they are called for help. Of all the staff, I can honestly say that there was only two (2) aides that were empathetic and caring to my family member!

The food is awful! It is brought to one of the dining rooms from the kitchen, then served cold from serving trays to the residents at their table. If you have a family member here, bring them food from home!!!!

    Personal hygiene is negected!

Seeing so many patients sitting in wheelchairs (many of them are given meds to make them sleepy and "quiet")…was disturbing.

I gave this facility only one (1) star, because there were no minuses that I could give!

Hopefully this helps someone to make an intelligent, informed decision on where to place their loved one!

I'm horrified at what I've seen and how some residents are treated… Complaints fall on deaf ears and continue to happen, neglect is a word I would use to describe the way residents are treated…Staff is a joke…..they lie, lie lie, and dont listen to the residents family requests for better treatment and more sanitary conditions for their loved ones…Your loved one would get better treatment in a kennel than Evangelical!!!!
