  • Sanctuary at Fraser Villa Fraser, Michigan 48026

Its a very clean facility. Residents should not be allowed to have candy in their rooms. Most elderly residents have limited appetites and need to eat nurtient dense food and not fill up on junk food. As people get older sugar is not a uncommon addiction. The staff are polite and patient with the residents. They should be applauded. It is not an easy job.

The facility is clean, the staff is very compassionate and helpful. The therapists do a great job! I would reccomend this facility to anyone looking for rehab services. I toured many facilities and spoke with many staff members. I could not even compare them with this fabulous facility!

I have reccomended this facility to many people looking for Rehab services.

Now all the residents rights are being violated because an incident that occurred at one of the other facilities. How ridiculous to think that putting the residents in the dining room for their snacks and drinks is going to prevent choking. They can choke on their saliva at any time. Do you think someone should sit in the residents rooms at all times just in case? Families are no longer able to give anything unless an aide is in the room watching. Yea right, like that is gonna happen. Hell they leave the members alone in the dinning room for 20 minutes while they were eating lunch (this just the other day). With the staff that you have there this is completely incomprehensible. And a another thing if a member can't remember that they have snacks in the dining room they get what the facilities provide instead of going into their little totes ( supplied by the Villa) and giving stuff they like. These poor residents many in wheel chairs must hunt down a staff member when they remember they have the treats to get them to go into their tote and sit with them so they can eat it. This is unrealistic and the people involved in rolling this insane idea out with out better organization and implementation need to listen to the families and just not blow them off . The families are the ones who know their family member better than anyone else and are good sources to the nurses, aides and doctors. I hope that you reconsider this ridiculous rule you have instituted without having all things considered and organized. Posting on here seems to get attention more so than speaking with at the Villa.

HELLO MY NAME IS SHANNON BYRAM, AND I AM WRITING IN REGARDS OF MY GRANDMOTHER DELORES BYRAM WHO RESIDES IN THE VILLA.

I WAS RECENTLY INFORMED THAT ALL RESIDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE CANDY OR SNACKS IN THERE ROOM ANY MORE, AND FEEL THIS IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE. MY GRANDMOTHER HAS THE RIGHT TO HAVE HER CANDIES IF SHE SO CHOOSES.I FEEL THIS IS JUST UNFAIR NOT ONLY TO MY GRANDMOTHER, BUT TO THE OTHER RESIDENTS AS WELL. WHAT HARM DOES IT DO TO LET THESE RESIDENT WHO MOST OF THEM DIDN'T CHOSE TO BE THERE HAVE THERE SNACKS WHEN THEY CHOOSE TO. I HAVE WORKED IN MANY NURSING HOMES AND DO KNOW ABOUT RULES AND SUCH. HOWEVER, THIS ONE JUST BAFFLES ME. I CAN NOT IMAGINE WHAT THE HARM COULD POSSIBLY BE , AND THE DAMAGE OF TAKING RESIDENTS RIGHTS AWAY OUTWEIGHS THE HARM YOU ARE DOING TO THE RESIDENTS,WHO MOST OF THEM ARE THERE SPENDING THERE LAST YEARS IN YOUR PLACE. SHOW THEM THE DIGNITY YOU WOULD SHOW YOUR OWN LOVED ONES. WOULD YOU LIKE THERE RIGHTS TAKEN AWAY??? I THINK NOT!!!!.

    THANK YOU

    SHANNON BYRAM
