i have a disability in my hands so excuse the shorthand. the staff lies to the point where patients r encouraged by the police to call Homeland Security. they abuse patients physically, threaten them verbally, and r protected by the executive director. the lower level staff (all black) r not allowed to speak directly to the white exec director who does and says VERY inappropriate things. as someone w special dietary needs they have almost sent me to the ER THREE times. they constantly run out of serious medications, such as allergy medication (when they serve patients food they r allergic to!), steroid medication, etc. the higher ups lie and retaliate individually. they come into ur room and yell at u for ratting them out and threaten that they will call the police on u. folks, u may think ur loved ones r being taken care of, but live here for a week. a month. and u'll c how it really is. those in authority talk shit about patients, which gets back to the patient, they call their employees "assholes" and that they "punish them by making them work on the long-term 'dementia floor'". to ur face they will tell u they're here from x-y and happy to help, but behind ur back they complain about how u overwork them when u simply ask them to scan and mail something for u once a week, even when that something has to do w getting housing so that u can LEAVE!!!
i made it clear to the exec dir that i did not want to b near the person who threatened me ever again, and he brought him unannounced into my bedroom, while cracking inappropriate jokes. my lawyer is begging me to let him prosecute. i think i'll let him.
