Review of Braintree Manor Healthcare

My father was at Braintree Manor from April to December. He was placed there after having surgery. Placing a love one in a nursing home is a hard enough decision and the care coordinator assured us this was a good place. We visited the site one day before he was to be transferred, met the staff and of course everything seemed caring and sufficient. Once he was placed there, I visited daily sometimes twice a day and starting noticing small things…his clothes missing, even though we put a sign up stating "family will do laundry". personal hygeines items disappearing, residents going in his personal property. I constantly informed the staff of these issues and the items were never replaced. More importantly my dad went through 8 months of physical therapy and regained some of his independance back and some of the staff..not all did not allow him to use it. He was not allowed to use the rest room at his leisure and was always given a bed pan. When other staff was on they took the time to assist him to his chair so he could assist himself their. My dad stated that he would love to have a bath or shower and hasn't had one in months. When I spoke with the staff they insisted that he showered every Monday. Once a week is not sufficent for me, but nevertheless when they checked their records it was found that he had not been given shower. things written in his medical record there was not accurate. Things that they stated were done was not accurate at all. I will say Braintree Manor does have a handful of Good Caring Staff that did their best for my dad, but this skilled setting needs lots of improvement in the training of cna's, caring for the elderly, restoring independence and dignity, keeping accurrate records on patients, and keeping a clean and healty facility.
