My mother-in-law was a patient at Wicomico for 20 months and received wonderful, attentive care the entire time. The nursing staff clearly knew their patients and cared about them. They informed us any time there was a problem with my mother-in-law, such as when she had an ear infection, and were always available when we called with questions or concerns. My husband and I visited my mother-in-law there at least 3 times each week, and always found the building to be clean and tidy. Many of the staff there have worked there for 15 or 20 years, and it is clear that they love their jobs and the patients. Although my mother-in-law was unable to dress or bathe herself, the staff always made sure she was clean and appropriately dressed. It would have been easier to just leave her in pajamas, but they clearly care about their patients' dignity, and do all that they can to help patients maintain their dignity, even when it means extra work for them. The meals were healthy, and as tasty as low-sodium meals can be; my mother-in-law never had any complaints about the food, even though she was a picky eater. If I could give Wicomico more than 5 stars, I would. I will always be grateful for the excellent care they provided.

They are nasty and unorganized over a verbal argument I am no longer allowed to go see my loved one because they weren't doing their job right(mind you my mother can not do anything for herself)the longer she's there the more she gets sick or urinary track infections's from them not wiping her correctly and I got highly upset now I am barred from going up there. Seriously.

I must say this was the most awful place I have ever been in! The staff were very unprofessional, loud and dirty looking. The poor residents were not well taken care of. They all looked dirty, unkept and sad. I've been in many nursing homes and this was the worst! The administrator from what I hear is lazy, money hungry and clueless as to what goes on there!

My father died there, was treated horribly mostly about not answering his call bell. He would end up trying to get up by himself, falling (I have pictures of him with a black eye), urinating in the hallway because he couldn't find the bathroom.

He was cold at night, couldn't turn over because of the weight of the blankets, and was put in a wheelchair in the middle of the night, told he deserved to be cold

and to keep quiet so as not to wake others. He was miserable and cold. Every time I walked in there, he would say, "I would NEVER put you in a place like this".

Those who couldn't think for themselves, had diapers on, etc., didn't know enough to know if they were being treated good or not, but my father had all his faculties, just couldn't swallow and was very weak from pneumonia. I despise them.
