Review of Riderwood Village

My parents moved into Riderwood less than two months ago. Unfortunately, my mother broke her hip just prior to moving there. As a result, she was placed in the nursing home section at Riderwood. The care there is abysmal.

First, my mother was placed in a room the size of a large closet. She is rarely checked on. On one occasion, she needed attention to go to the bathroom. My father luckily was visiting at the time. He asked one of the staff members at the nursing station to help her. The aide responded that she would be right there. When the aide did not show up after more than ten minutes, my father checked again. The aide was clipping shopping coupons at the front desk. I know you may think this is an aberration, but it is just one instance of a pattern of neglect. The staff do not care for the patients. My sister said it best. You could get this kind of care for free at a Medicare facility. This place costs $9,500 per month!
