My mother-in-law entered the facility for rehab after a fractured leg with redness on her heel and sacrum. Within 6 weeks, both of those were stage 4 with new ulcers on the other heel and calf. She now has infection in the bone, is septic and has been placed on hospice. While the staff was kind, they were not attentive to changing her position and taking precautions to prevent further skin breakdown.
