Review of Lexington Country Place

My father was at LCP for appox 3 months. He has Lewy Body Dementia and is unable to walk. We had 1 to 3 family members with him, everyday. But it was at night when the neglect happened. He was left to lay in his own feces, his teeth were not brushed, he began to get sore places on his scalp (from lack of shower, and not washing him well). Neurologists were trying to get his meds regulated (for the Parkinsons symptoms), they were to be administered every 8 hours, we discovered that he had been given them 5 hours apart, then 9 hours apart. This caused him to have horrible side effects. We also discovered that the same thing was being done with all of his meds ( that explained the raise in blood sugar, which they would give him a shot of insulin). The nurse call buttons, on his wing at least, were left to go off for 20-30 minutes before someone even checked on the patients. Yet you could find many aides and nurses in the front office talking. There were aides that were so horrible, I had to demand that they not be in his room. We were lucky enough to be able to care for him at home. Let this nursing home be your absolute last resort.
