My dad received very poor care in the nursing home. He was loosing weight(greater than 20 lbs in one month), and his complaints of abdominal pain were ignored until he started vomiting blood.
My diabetic mother was in assisted living at the same time, on the same campus. Her diet restrictions were completely ignored. She went form a size 14 to a size 20. Many activities centered around feeding them sweets. As a result of her out of control diabetes, her kidney failure increased dramatically.
