My aunt lives in this care center. What you need to understand is that in any nursing home you will find that there's a ratio for staff to residents. Most of the time you'll find the CNA ratio to be 1:10. One CNA for every ten residents. Also, in care facilities you will find that they will tell you there's a 15min period in where a call light must be answered. As far as I'm concerned my aunt is getting the best possible care here. There's therapists and restorative nurses helping her every day and the CNAs will take her on daily walks. As anywhere there's some staff I don't like but my aunt can request those CNAs not to assist her if she wants. I couldn't be happier with her care!

This place is exceptional. Therapy was great and the staff treated me with respect. Very happy I spent my time there to get my rehabilitation.

I encourage anyone considering putting their family member in any facility to do your homework. Get on the internet. Check out Medicare Nursing home reviews and compare to other facilities. This home is currently 1 star out of 5 stars being the worst in this area. This is on all levels of care, cleanliness and quality. I removed my loved one for failure to notifiy me due to changes in their health and abilty to communicate. I encourage you, visit other facilities don't make a decision because this is close to your home, i regret mine. Ask yourself this question, when you were sick growing up, would your parents settle for below average care for you? Would they have left you in a facility that put you at risk? Do your homework and you will find your answer. Anamosa Care Center probably will not be on your list.

My mother is a resident of the Anamosa Care Center and I can't think of any other place I would rather have her be. The staff there are the most caring, kind, compassionate and knowledgeable people I have ever met. This goes for every department including nursing, housekeeping, laundry, dietary and activities! Everyone bends over backwards to see that my mother is content, happy and well taken care of! I am ALWAYS informed of any changes that have occurred including a simple medication change. Also they are currently remodeling and the new furniture and decor is beautiful! Since I am unable to care for my mother at home I truley appreciate the care that she now receives and can rest easy knowing that she is at the Anamosa Care Center! Thank God for them!

Seems like families put there family members there to forget about them, if that is want you want this is the place for you! I rarely saw other family members, made me very sad. You walk in and there are many residents just sitting around in chairs. A few times there was not a CNA in site. There doesn't seem to be any interaction unless they are being moved to meal time. The place smells all the time, one day i wonder how long it would have been before my family member would have been changed when she wet her bed. When I pushed the button for an aid it took 15 minute to answer them bell, good thing it wasn't an emergency! They seem short staffed, some staff are wonderful, but overworked a couple of aids not so much. They never tell you anything about your family member unless you ask. When I asked questions about my family members care no one seemed to know anything except the nurses. When you do ask, it takes awhile to get an answer. I checked medicare star rating and they had all one star! The lowest rating out of 40 nursing homes in the area. If you have family there and you care about their care.. GET THEM OUT ASAP!
