Due to extremely low staffing resident's are neglected. They can go up to 4 days without receiving baths. Sunday's are considered "down" days and resident's who do not eat by mouth generally stay in bed all day and are only repositioned 1-2 times in an 8 hour shift. Many times a CNA is caring for up to 16 completely dependent residents with as many as 7 showers in an hour shift. They are unable to give all their showers, change and reposition every 2 hours, and provide oral care. Management refuses to help out as they believe that nurses are too good to do CNA work.
